The victim, Alhasan Asan, became trapped inside the burning structure despite desperate rescue attempts by neighbours who rushed to help. According to his aunt, Nana Akua, the fire spread with alarming speed through the house, giving residents mere minutes to react. The rapid spread prevented occupants from retrieving belongings or mounting an effective rescue effort for the teenager. Beyond the loss of life, the fire destroyed household items, furniture, electrical appliances and personal possessions estimated to be worth thousands of cedis.
