JoySports Invitational 2026: Corporate Ghana gears up for major sports festival at Legon

The JoySports Invitational Tournament is set to bring together Ghana's corporate sector for a full day of athletic competition, wellness activities and networking at the University of Ghana in 2026. The event will feature football as the main attraction alongside chess, table tennis, scrabble and other sporting disciplines, with prizes worth thousands of cedis up for grabs.

Schedule and sporting action

Activities kick off at 6:00 am with a health walk led by John Dumelo, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, starting from the stadium through the University of Ghana campus to the Balme Library. An aerobic session follows from 6:40 am to 7:15 am at the Legon Stadium car park before the official opening ceremony at 7:30 am.

The sporting competitions commence at 8:00 am with 17 opening-round football matches spread across two venues. Park 1 will see matchups including McDan Group versus Equity Health Insurance, Ghana Publishing Company against Old Mutual, and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission facing La Community Bank. Park 2 features fixtures such as the Multimedia Group against GIMPA, Tema Oil Refinery taking on Toyota Ghana Limited, and the National Petroleum Authority clashing with the Minerals Commission.

Beyond football, the midday session will include swimming, CEO and Ladies Penalty Shootouts, while the afternoon features novelty races including sack races, lime and spoon competitions, and sprinting events. The football final takes place between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, followed by awards and prize presentations.

Prizes and recognition

Winners across multiple categories will receive substantial rewards. The men's football champions will receive 12 watches, whilst the female penalty shootout winner takes home a 50-inch television. Other prizes include a complete table tennis table, surprise phones for unisex relay winners, a fridge for the tug of peace winners, gold prizes for arm wrestling and CEO penalty shootout champions, and GHS 2,000 in gift vouchers for the swimming champion.

Spectators and non-competing participants can also win major prizes by dialling *712# to enter draws for a 100-inch television, fridge, motorbike and other items. Tickets are available at the venue for GHS 50.
