Greater Accra Region has been crowned national champions of the 2026 Literacy Challenge, capping a dominant performance across multiple rounds of the prestigious academic competition. The team, featuring Neriah Gyamfi, Jenelle-Abrielle Ofori and Sarah Augusta Akosua Otoo, finished with 88 points to secure the trophy, holding off strong challenges from rival regions in a final that remained competitive until the very end.

The victory marked the culmination of an impressive tournament run for the Greater Accra contingent, which had progressed methodically through earlier stages before delivering a composed performance under pressure in the championship round. Northern Region claimed runner-up honours with 85 points, whilst Bono Region finished third with 68 points. Volta Region rounded out the final four with 64 points.
