Fire Destroys Office and Storeroom at Adonten Senior High School
A fire outbreak at Adonten Senior High School has destroyed the House Master's office and a storeroom, with firefighters from Aburi and Akropong Fire Stations successfully containing the flames to the science block on Saturday, July 4.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire consumed significant educational and administrative materials, including office equipment, books, school uniforms and electronic devices. However, firefighters managed to salvage library books and gardening tools before the fire could claim them.
The rapid response from both fire stations prevented the blaze from reaching other critical areas of the school, substantially limiting the damage. Before professional firefighters arrived, staff and students attempted to extinguish the fire but were unable to control it.
No injuries or fatalities were reported during the incident. The Fire Service has launched investigations to determine what caused the fire, with authorities currently assessing the full extent of damage to school property and resources.
