28 Aspirants Jostle for NPP Executive Positions in Biakoye Constituency
The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) internal elections in the Biakoye Constituency have taken on a competitive edge, with as many as 28 aspirants filing nominations for a range of executive positions. The elections are widely seen as a critical step in the party's efforts to reorganise and rebuild following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
The position of Constituency Chairman is being contested by three individuals — Mr Sulemana Moru, Mr Daniel Korsina and Mr Freeman Dankwa — each of whom has pledged to unify the party and strengthen its grassroots presence. The First Vice Chairperson seat has attracted Mr Maxwell Tawiah, Mr Moses K. Adjison and Mr Razak Agro, while the Second Vice Chairperson race will be between Mr Mohammed Yakubu and Mr Diawuo Sasu.
Further down the ticket, the Constituency Secretary position will be decided between Mr Ali Sabiku and Mr Christian Badu Aganu. Three aspirants — Mr David Ocloo, Mr Joseph Eklu and Mr Felix Nyarko Boateng — are vying for the Deputy Secretary role. The Youth Organiser position has drawn the most interest, with four candidates: Mr Samuel Takyi, Mr Samuel Ofosu, Mr Christian Dzisah Hormeku and Mr Moses Babayi all in contention.

- Nasara Organiser: Mr Abubakar Sadique vs Mr Abdul Wadud Rahman
- Treasurer: Mr Takyi Kumi, Mr Issaka Moukutaru and Mr Felix Aganu
- Communications Officer: Mr Peter Kotoka vs Mr Francis Asare
- Organiser: Mr Martin Ampim vs Mr Ibrahim Hamidu
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Biakoye District IT Coordinator Mr Micheal Appiah described the large field of aspirants as a sign of renewed confidence and enthusiasm within the party. He expressed optimism that the outcome of the elections would help the NPP restructure effectively and mount a strong challenge in the 2028 general elections.
As campaigns gather pace, aspirants are expected to engage delegates more intensively, laying out their plans for expanding the party's support base across the constituency and positioning the NPP for a stronger performance at the next national polls.
