Afoko is the unity leader NPP needs, says Addai-Nimoh

Former Asante Mampong MP Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh has endorsed Paul Afoko as the unifying figure required to rebuild the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following its 2024 election defeat. Speaking to party delegates in the Upper West Region, Addai-Nimoh argued that Afoko's experience and return to active politics position him uniquely to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen party cohesion ahead of 2028.

Addai-Nimoh contended that the NPP's greatest challenge lies not with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), but with internal divisions that have weakened the party. "The problem is not the NDC; the problem is we, the people within the party. We have not treated ourselves well," he said, urging unity as essential to reclaiming power.

Highlighting the party's electoral losses, Addai-Nimoh noted that the NPP holds no parliamentary seats in four regions containing 53 constituencies combined. He argued Afoko possesses the capability to reorganise the party effectively and recover lost political ground in these areas.

Afoko's campaign centres on his "3Rs Agenda" – Reunite, Rebuild and Recapture – with the slogan "One NPP, One People". His platform emphasises grassroots empowerment, promising improved welfare packages, enhanced logistics, and greater decision-making power for polling station and constituency executives alongside rank-and-file members.
