Zoomlion Clinches Two Prestigious HESS Awards for Waste Management Excellence

Waste Management Leader Honoured at Annual Awards Ceremony

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has been awarded two major accolades at the 8th Health, Environment, Safety and Security (HESS) Awards 2026 in Accra, cementing its status as a leader in sustainable waste management across the country. The company received the Waste Management and Recycling Facility Excellence Award 2026 and the Waste Management Innovation Award 2026, recognising its commitment to delivering safe, innovative and environmentally responsible solutions nationwide.

The awards ceremony, themed "Beyond Compliance: Building Resilient Organisations Through Integrated HESS Excellence," brought together leading organisations from manufacturing, energy, health, finance, logistics and agribusiness sectors. Zoomlion's Operations Manager, Emil Amoah, accepted the awards on behalf of the company's workforce, emphasising that the recognition reflects the collective effort of all employees, from management to drivers and janitors.

"Winning these awards is a significant milestone for Zoomlion Ghana Limited. They recognise our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable environmental management," Mr Amoah said. "This recognition reaffirms the confidence our stakeholders have in our services and our contribution to Ghana's sanitation and environmental agenda."

The HESS Awards celebrate organisations that move beyond regulatory compliance to promote excellence in workplace safety, environmental management and security standards. For Zoomlion, the honours reflect years of investment in innovation, employee safety training, environmental protection and community sanitation initiatives.

Deputy Chief Executive of the Environmental Protection Agency, Professor Jacob Paarechuga Anankware, praised the awards' focus on environmental responsibility. He urged organisations to continue prioritising safety and sustainability, whilst calling for renewed support for Ghana's Styrofoam ban initiative.

Zoomlion says the dual recognition motivates continued advancement of its integrated waste management operations, including modern recycling facilities, emergency response systems and waste-to-value innovations aimed at building a cleaner, safer Ghana.
