Vision FC Coach Jaredic Steps Down After Dismal Eight-Match Spell
Montenegrin coach Predrag Jaredic has ended his brief tenure at Vision Football Club, resigning from the position of head coach with immediate effect, the club confirmed on Tuesday morning. The departure comes after a disappointing run that saw the side win just once in their opening eight Ghana Premier League matches this season.
Jaredic's sole victory came on the opening day of the campaign when Vision defeated Young Apostles on 5 September. The subsequent seven matches yielded three losses and three draws, a record that ultimately proved untenable for the club's hierarchy. His final match in charge was a goalless home defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday.
In a brief statement, Vision FC thanked the Montenegrin tactician for his service and wished him well in his future endeavours, though the club provided no further comment on the reasons behind the resignation or details of what prompted the sudden exit.
Jaredic's Short Stint and Context
Jaredic was appointed on 29 June this year as the successor to Nana Kwaku Agyemang, who departed at the end of the previous season. His arrival was intended to provide fresh direction and stability to the club, but the results on the pitch have not materialised as hoped. The poor form, combined with the team's inability to climb the league standings, appears to have prompted his decision to step down.
The resignation reflects the high-pressure environment in Ghanaian football, where coaches often face swift judgement based on immediate results. With only eight matches into the season, Jaredic's departure signals that Vision FC's leadership felt a change was necessary to arrest their early-season struggles and avoid a prolonged period battling near the bottom of the table.
What This Means for Vision FC
The club now faces the urgent task of finding a replacement to stabilise their campaign. Vision's next fixture is an away trip to friendly rivals Dreams FC on Sunday, 25 October, and the new coaching regime will need to hit the ground running to prevent further ground being lost in the title race.
The sudden departure raises questions about the club's coaching recruitment strategy and the expectations placed on incoming managers. A single win from eight games is undoubtedly poor, but the speed of the exit underscores how volatile managerial positions can be in Ghana's top division. The club will be hoping a change of personnel can spark an immediate turnaround, though back-to-back defeats heading into the international break provide limited room for optimism.
Vision FC has not yet announced who will take interim charge for the Dreams FC clash, but they will need stability and fresh ideas to reignite their season if they harbour ambitions of a competitive finish this term.
