Health Ministry Accountants Demand Better Working Conditions in Ashanti Region
The Ashanti Regional branch of the Health Accountants Staff Association of Ghana has intensified calls for improved working conditions and fair treatment of its members across the region's health facilities.
The Association, which represents accountants and internal auditors employed under the Ministry of Health and its affiliated agencies, says its members face ongoing challenges that affect service delivery and staff morale.
Key concerns raised include:
- Delayed salary payments and allowances
- Lack of professional development opportunities
- Inadequate resources and support systems
Officials from the regional branch have called on the Ministry of Health and government to prioritise the welfare of financial management staff, noting that their work is critical to ensuring transparent fund management in Ghana's health sector.
The Association has vowed to escalate the matter if their grievances are not addressed promptly.
