Burna Boy, Metro Boomin, Skepta to headline Rolling Loud India 2026—first time performing in country

Rolling Loud, the world's largest hip-hop festival, has unveiled an ambitious lineup for its second Indian edition in December 2026, bringing together African, British, and American hip-hop royalty alongside India's emerging rap scene. The two-day festival will mark the Indian debuts of Burna Boy, Metro Boomin, and grime pioneer Skepta—three artists whose only previous access to Indian audiences came through screens or international travel.

The festival's 30-artist bill reflects a deliberate strategy to blend global superstars with homegrown talent. Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian afrobeats icon and first African artist to headline a UK stadium, performs in India for the first time on December 12. Metro Boomin, the Atlanta-based producer behind chart-topping collaborations with Future, Drake, and Travis Scott, makes his Indian debut the same night. Big Sean, the Detroit rapper and Grammy nominee, also takes the stage December 12 in what will be his first India performance.

A Festival Built on India's Hip-Hop Movement

What distinguishes Rolling Loud India 2026 is its commitment to reflecting how hip-hop actually thrives here—through underground cyphers, small venues, and artist-to-artist endorsements rather than algorithm-driven playlists. Over one-third of the lineup comprises artists with Indian roots, spanning Punjabi rap (Karan Aujla, Wazir Patar), Delhi's underground scene (Seedhe Maut), Haryanvi hip-hop, Tamil rap, Marathi, and Gujarati language performers.

Karan Aujla, who made history as the first global Punjabi artist to headline Rolling Loud India at the festival's 2025 debut, returns to close Day 2. His 2025 performance drew thousands who sang every verse—a moment that reportedly influenced how organisers approached this year's international acts. Skepta, the British grime MC who globalised UK garage culture, performs what is billed as his first and only India show on December 13, weeks after releasing his new solo album The Fork and Knife.

Why This Matters for Ghana and African Music

Burna Boy's inclusion signals Rolling Loud's expanded commitment to African artists on the global stage. As one of the continent's biggest music exports and a regular presence at major international festivals, his India debut underscores how African hip-hop and Afrobeats have become genuinely global commodities. For Ghanaian artists and industry stakeholders, this reinforces an important lesson: the festival circuit remains one of the most valuable platforms for artists seeking international reach and credibility.

Rolling Loud's presence across four continents and nine countries—from Miami to Japan to Australia—creates opportunities for artists to build fanbase momentum across multiple markets without relying solely on streaming algorithms. Ghana's music industry, particularly its hip-hop community, continues to benefit from similar international festival exposure, with Ghanaian artists increasingly securing slots at major events globally.

Tickets and Festival Details

The festival takes place at an unspecified venue on December 12–13, 2026. Tickets are available through the District app with flexible payment options: reserve now and pay 50% upfront, with the balance due by November 20, 2026. A refund-guaranteed option is also available for cancellations made by December 1, 2026. Further venue and schedule details will be announced via Rolling Loud India and District's social media channels.
