Bawumia Sends Condolences to Flood Victims, Urges Ghanaians to Cooperate with Authorities
Former Vice President and NPP flagbearer for the 2028 general election, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has offered his condolences to the thousands of Ghanaians whose lives have been upended by recent flooding across the country. Dr Bawumia made his sentiments known via a social media post on Monday, 29th June, describing the situation as a deeply difficult moment for Ghana.
The former Vice President said his thoughts were firmly with those who had lost relatives, seen their homes destroyed, or been forced to abandon their properties due to the disaster. "My deepest sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones, properties, and those who have been forced out of their homes," he wrote.
Beyond expressing grief, Dr Bawumia used the post to appeal for public cooperation with state institutions managing the emergency response. He called on all citizens to abide by official directives issued by government agencies, stressing that coordinated action between the public and the authorities would be key to effective relief operations.
"I urge citizens to comply with all directives issued by the Government and to cooperate fully with institutions mandated to address the situation," he stated.
Closing his message on a note of hope, Dr Bawumia expressed faith in Ghana's collective resilience, urging citizens to support one another through the crisis. "We will get through this difficult time by caring for one another. May God bless our homeland Ghana," he added.
