NAFCO pledges continued support to Dagbon Kingdom following death of Ya-Na Mahama Abukari II

The Chief Executive of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO), George Abradu-Otoo, has renewed the state agency's commitment to supporting the Dagbon Kingdom following the death of Ya-Na Mahama Abukari II. During a condolence visit to Gbewaa Palace in Yendi as part of a Northern Region inspection tour, Mr Abradu-Otoo praised the late paramount ruler as a leader who championed peace and development across northern Ghana.

The NAFCO delegation's visit represents more than ceremonial respect — it underscores the institutional relationships that bind government agencies to Ghana's traditional authorities. Mr Abradu-Otoo recalled his personal interactions with the late Ya-Na approximately four months before his passing, noting the significant impression left by the monarch's character and hospitality.
