Man Allegedly Stabs Aunt's Boyfriend to Death Over Relationship Dispute in Central Region

A romantic relationship dispute has turned fatal in the Central Region, after a 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering his aunt's boyfriend at Atwere Bebiaa Ne Ha, a community near Awutu Obrachire.

Sources indicate that the suspect had repeatedly warned the deceased to break off his relationship with the suspect's aunt. Those warnings went unheeded, and what began as a long-running disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation that claimed the victim's life.

The deceased's brother, Kojo Bentum, confirmed the incident to the media and provided details of the circumstances surrounding the killing. The Acting Head of Family for Awutu Bebiaa Ne Ha, Nana Kweku Asare, described himself as deeply shocked upon hearing the news.

Officers from the Awutu Bawjiase District Police Command responded swiftly, apprehending the suspect shortly after the incident. He is currently in custody and assisting investigators with their enquiries.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a scheduled autopsy. Residents of the community say the killing has left them shaken, with many voicing concern about the increasing number of violent incidents rooted in personal and domestic disputes.

Police have launched a full investigation into the matter to establish all facts surrounding the case.
