Lawyer Urges Court to Grant Time Extension in Wontumi Samreboi Mining Case

A lawyer representing Chairman Wontumi, the former national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asked the court handling his illegal mining case to grant an extension of time. The request comes as newly engaged legal counsel seeks to properly prepare the defence in the Samreboi mining dispute.

The Attorney-General and the Ministry of Justice, however, filed an affidavit opposing the extension request. The opposition aims to move the case forward without delays, signalling the state's commitment to expediting proceedings in the matter.
