Ghana to Host Africa's Biggest Green Champions Award in 2026

Ghana is set to become the continental hub for environmental recognition when the Africa Horticultural Circle hosts the Earth Stewards Award 2026 at Efua Sutherland Park in Accra on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The landmark ceremony will bring together environmental advocates, green entrepreneurs, innovators and communities from across Africa to honour pioneers reshaping the continent's approach to sustainability, horticulture and environmental restoration.

Behind the initiative is Mrs Winihin Jemide, founder of the Africa Horticultural Circle and an accomplished entrepreneur, horticultural practitioner and storyteller. Her vision has built AHC into a pan-African community spanning 28 countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania and others. The organisation draws on more than 33 years of experience in horticulture, floral design and community engagement, with reach extending to over 15,000 people across the continent.
