Ghana's Local Government Minister Mahama Ayariga has announced an ambitious plan to enhance civic transparency and public participation by arranging live broadcast coverage of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly (MMDA) meetings through state institutions.

Under the initiative, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) will partner to provide real-time coverage of General Assembly and Town Hall meetings held across the country's decentralised governance structures. The move represents a significant shift towards opening government proceedings to public scrutiny and encouraging broader citizen engagement in local decision-making.
