NPP Sets Up Elections Committee to Oversee Party Leadership Vote

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally inaugurated a National Elections Committee tasked with overseeing the party's internal electoral processes, including the upcoming National Conference and the election of national officers. Former Suhum Member of Parliament Frederick Opare-Ansah will lead the committee as chairman, while former Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei-Asare takes on the role of secretary. Beyond the chairman and secretary, the committee comprises seven additional members: Evans Nimako, Oboshie Sai Cofie, Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Salam Ama Appianin Damata, Eric Ntori, and Frank Davies. The committee will also include the Ashanti Regional Chairman once the NPP concludes its regional elections in the Ashanti Region, ensuring broad representation across the party's regional structures.

The formal inauguration was conducted by Acting National Chairman Danquah Smith Butey, who expressed confidence in the committee's capacity to manage the electoral process professionally. The party leadership has emphasised that the committee must operate with integrity, fairness, transparency, and professionalism throughout its mandate.
