Mr Ibu's Widow Denies Secret Property Sales, Says Court Order Approved All Transactions

Stella Maris Okafor, widow of late Nigerian Nollywood actor John Okafor—popularly known as Mr Ibu—has firmly denied allegations that she secretly sold her husband's properties and misappropriated the funds. Speaking to content creator King Mitchy in a recent video, she explained that all property transactions were conducted strictly in accordance with a court order and with the full consent of Mr Ibu's two sons, Valentine and Daniel Okafor.

She maintained she possesses all relevant documentation to support her claims. "This is a court order. We—not me alone—my husband's two sons, Valentine Okafor and Daniel Okafor, and I did it according to the court order. Every evidence is here," Stella Maris stated, emphasising that the property sale was a collective family decision backed by legal authority.

Beyond property matters, Stella Maris revealed she now runs an online jewellery business after her late husband discouraged her from entrepreneurial ventures while she was still acting. She disclosed plans to relocate from her current residence, citing its high cost and noting she had moved there only due to security concerns and public pressure following Mr Ibu's death. "I did not intend to come to this place. It's because of pressure and security, but I am packing out," she said.

Addressing claims from someone alleging to be one of Mr Ibu's children and demanding financial support, Stella Maris described disagreements that surfaced shortly after the actor's burial. She alleged that some family members pressured her to share money given to her during the funeral for her children's upkeep, which she firmly refused.
