A significant warehouse fire erupted in Kwadaso, Anyinam, in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday afternoon, forcing emergency services into rapid action to prevent the inferno from spreading to nearby educational and residential areas. The facility, located close to the Pat-Doramo International School, was completely engulfed in flames, with thick smoke visible across neighbouring communities and causing considerable alarm among residents and students in the vicinity.

Swift emergency response contains the fire

The Ghana National Fire Service mobilised personnel from three major fire stations to combat the blaze. Firefighters from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Fire Station, the Ghana National Fire Service Regional Headquarters in Ashanti, and the KNUST Fire Station worked in coordinated effort to contain the flames. The response was bolstered by DRIP water tankers, which supplied crucial additional water supplies to suppress the fire and create a protective perimeter around nearby structures, particularly the Pat-Doramo International School, which was at risk had the fire continued unchecked.
