ECG to cut power across Accra East for four days; here's what to expect

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a four-day planned maintenance programme affecting parts of Accra East, with temporary power cuts scheduled from Monday, August 10 through Thursday, August 13. During the maintenance period, electricity will be unavailable in affected areas between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm each day, disrupting business, home activities and daily routines for residents across multiple communities.

ECG says the exercise is essential for improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the region. The phased approach spreads the disruption across different neighbourhoods over the four-day window, allowing the company to focus maintenance efforts systematically rather than cutting power across all areas simultaneously.

The affected areas by day

On the opening day, Monday, August 10, residents in Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Twumasiwaa Hospital, Ability and surrounding areas will experience outages. Tuesday's maintenance affects customers in Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and their surrounding communities.

Wednesday, August 12 shifts focus to parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina, Libya Quarters and neighbouring areas. The final phase on Thursday covers Achimota School and its environs.

ECG has urged all affected customers to note the schedule carefully and prepare accordingly, acknowledging the inconvenience whilst emphasising the necessity of the work.
