Dentsu Ghana Opens School of Influence to Build Creator Economy Skills

Ghana's creator economy is taking a major step towards professionalisation with the launch of the Dentsu School of Influence (DSOI) Ghana, a comprehensive five-day training programme designed to transform aspiring and emerging influencers into skilled professionals capable of building lasting careers in digital content creation.

The initiative reflects the rapid expansion of Ghana's influencer and creator landscape, where brands across telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, technology and lifestyle sectors are increasingly investing in creator partnerships. Dentsu Ghana's engagement with close to 1,000 influencers and creators over the past year underscores both the scale of the sector and the urgent need for structured professional development within the industry.

What the Programme Offers

DSOI Ghana is structured around five core competency areas designed to equip creators with both creative and business acumen. Participants will engage with the Psychology of Influence, mastering how to understand and connect with audiences authentically. Platform Mastery covers the technical and strategic use of various social media and content distribution channels, whilst The Road to Great Content focuses on storytelling, production quality and creative excellence.

Two critical business-focused modules—Brand Partnerships & Campaign Success and The Business of Being a Creator—address the commercial realities creators face, including contract negotiation, revenue generation, financial management and building sustainable income streams. The five-day format combines masterclasses, hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentorship, Creator Studio sessions, industry panel discussions and direct brand engagement opportunities.

The programme culminates in a Creator Pitch Showcase, where participants present campaign concepts to an industry panel. The top three entries will receive recognition, providing winners with visibility and potential business opportunities.

Why It Matters for Ghana

Ghana's creator economy represents a significant but largely unstructured segment of the digital economy. While many talented creators have built substantial followings and earning potential, the sector has lacked formal pathways to professional development and industry standards. DSOI Ghana addresses this gap by establishing professional benchmarks, connecting creators with established brands and industry mentors, and legitimising content creation as a viable career path.

The programme's backing by major brands including Telecel Ghana, AB InBev, GBfoods and GTP signals strong commercial confidence in the creator economy's future. For participants, the programme offers not just skills training but direct access to decision-makers and potential commercial partnerships. For Ghana's broader digital economy, the initiative positions the country as a serious player in creative industries development, following similar launches in South Africa and Kenya.

Additionally, by shifting focus from vanity metrics like follower counts towards credibility, authentic creativity and professional impact, DSOI Ghana encourages a more sustainable and reputation-driven creator ecosystem that benefits audiences, brands and creators alike.

Applications are open to aspiring and emerging creators aged 18 and above, currently resident in Accra, with a demonstrated passion for content creation.
