Shell's Vivo Energy Ghana Charts Growth Path at Retailer Summit, Celebrates Network Excellence
Vivo Energy Ghana, operating as the Shell licensee in the country, has reaffirmed its strategic focus on operational excellence and retailer partnerships following a major retail conference and awards ceremony held in Accra. The event, themed "Bigger, Bolder, Better Together," brought together the company's retail network, leadership and employees to review performance, celebrate achievements and outline priorities for growth in Ghana's competitive downstream petroleum sector.
Recognition and Performance Highlights
The conference centred on a prestigious awards ceremony honouring retailers and staff who have delivered exceptional results and raised operational standards across Vivo Energy Ghana's network. Country Retailer of the Year went to Michael John-Delase of MKA Delase Ventures, whilst Dr. Joseph Dorph of Triple N Company Limited received the Gold Retailer award. Individual excellence was also recognised, with Agarthina Wiafe named Best Territory Manager and Gloria Serwaa at Shell Aboaso awarded Best Quality Marshal. Beyond these top honours, dozens of retailers, managers and site teams received recognition for strong performance across key business metrics.
Managing Director Christian Li used the keynote address to emphasise the critical role retailers play as brand ambassadors for Shell, crediting their resilience in navigating a volatile business environment. He called for continued investment in safety culture, workforce development, innovation and expansion beyond traditional fuel offerings—positioning Shell mobility as a comprehensive customer solution.
Why it Matters for Ghana
Vivo Energy Ghana is a significant player in the country's energy infrastructure, operating Shell-branded fuel stations and serving commercial and retail customers across multiple regions. The company's performance and strategic direction influence fuel availability, pricing competitiveness and service standards that affect everyday Ghanaians and businesses reliant on reliable energy supply. The emphasis on retailer partnerships also reflects broader trends in Ghana's downstream sector, where independent retailers form the backbone of fuel distribution beyond major urban centres.
The conference's focus on innovation and services beyond fuel—such as mobility solutions and customer experience enhancements—signals how multinational energy operators are adapting to changing market dynamics in Africa. For Ghanaian consumers and entrepreneurs, this translates to potentially improved service quality and competitive offerings at fuel stations nationwide.
Strategic Priorities Moving Forward
Presentations at the conference outlined half-year performance metrics and identified growth opportunities for the remainder of 2025. Retail Manager Yves-Roland Campaore emphasised maintaining momentum through focused business growth, exceptional customer service and unwavering operational standards. The company's stated vision remains becoming the leading and most respected energy business across Africa, guided by core values of safety, excellence, caring, respect and integrity.
The reinvigorated retailer network and structured recognition programme underscore Vivo Energy Ghana's commitment to competitive advantage through strong local partnerships—a model that has underpinned the company's market position in Ghana for years.
