NRSA Warns Ghanaians of Traffic Tech Scammers as Automated Enforcement System Gains Ground

The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has issued a public warning to road users across Ghana about con artists taking advantage of the country's newly implemented traffic tech system.

The traffic technology platform is an automated road enforcement tool designed to improve road safety and traffic management. It was developed through a collaborative effort between the Ghana Police Service, the NRSA, and the Ministry of Transport.

Officials at the NRSA have urged motorists to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with unauthorised operators claiming to represent the traffic enforcement system. Scammers have reportedly been contacting vehicle owners with fake violations, demanding immediate payment through unofficial channels.

The authority has advised road users to verify any traffic-related communications directly through official NRSA and Ghana Police channels before making payments. Legitimate notices and fines can be checked via the official traffic tech portal and verified through authorised payment gateways only.

This cautionary move comes as the automated system continues to roll out nationwide, aimed at reducing road accidents and improving compliance with traffic regulations across the country.
