Ellen Hagan's Charity Gala Mobilises Support for Bible Society and Young Women Leaders

A high-profile charity gala hosted by Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan in Accra has successfully mobilised support for two key Ghanaian organisations focused on faith and youth development. The event brought together prominent business leaders, clergy, philanthropists and other dignitaries to raise funds for the Bible Society of Ghana and the Ellen Hagan Nsoromma Programme, an initiative under the L'AÎNÉ Foundation dedicated to empowering young women as future leaders.

The gala, chaired by Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Properties and Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University, also marked the completion of Dr. Hagan's tenure as Vice President of the Bible Society of Ghana. Rather than focusing on personal accolades, Dr. Hagan emphasised the broader mission of the evening, stating: "This evening is not about celebrating one person's journey. It is about multiplying impact. Every contribution made tonight helps place God's Word into more hands and opens more doors for young women to become the leaders our continent needs."

Supporting Bible Accessibility and Youth Leadership

The funds raised will support two complementary missions. The Bible Society of Ghana, which has operated for nearly six decades, will use its portion to expand Scripture translation, publishing and distribution efforts. The Ellen Hagan Nsoromma Programme targets a different but equally important need: developing the next generation of female leaders. Operating for two years, the initiative focuses on three pillars—faith, relationships and career development—to help young women build confidence, strengthen their support networks and develop their leadership potential. Participants are equipped with skills and values to pursue excellence and integrity across their professional, church and community roles.

The event concluded with prayers of thanksgiving and a commissioning ceremony, during which organisers and guests recommitted to investing in faith-based initiatives and the empowerment of future generations of Ghanaian leaders.
