ECG announces two-day maintenance shutdown across Kumasi communities

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled power cuts across several communities in Kumasi and surrounding areas as part of planned maintenance work on its distribution infrastructure. The outages will occur on Tuesday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 22, with electricity supply disrupted between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on both days.

The maintenance programme targets multiple localities across the Ashanti Region. On Tuesday, the work will affect Ahwiaa, Medoma, Buokrom, Buokrom Estate F-Line, Buokrom Estate D-Line, South Africa, Truba, and adjacent communities. The following day brings a second phase impacting Old Tafo, New Road Junction, and surrounding areas, with additional outages affecting Bonwire, Amanpe, Adanwomase, Baman, and neighbouring localities. A third set of disruptions on Wednesday will hit Kumaca, Asokore Mampong, areas around Royal Foam Factory, CCC, Asokore Mampong Municipality, and adjacent zones.

According to ECG, the planned disruptions are necessary for engineers to carry out essential maintenance tasks on the network infrastructure.
