Ghana's High Commissioner pledges full diplomatic backing for Team Ghana at 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Sabah Zito Benson, has reaffirmed the Ghana High Commission's unwavering commitment to supporting Team Ghana's participation at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, emphasising that the athletes' dedication merits the nation's full backing.

Speaking to TW Radio, the High Commissioner highlighted the extensive preparation undertaken by Ghanaian competitors and stressed that their hard work warrants recognition and support from both government and citizens. "They've put in a lot of hard work and training and I believe that everybody that works hard deserves some reward after that. So as a High Commissioner, we are giving them the total support that they need," she stated.

Beyond ceremonial encouragement, H.E. Benson outlined practical measures the High Commission has put in place to support the athletes throughout the Games. She confirmed that her office has mobilised staff to be available for any emergencies or urgent support needs that Team Ghana may encounter during the competition.
