Abu Sakara Foster Enskinned as Kakulasewura of Mankuma in Savannah Region
Dr Abu Sakara Foster, the well-known agriculturalist, entrepreneur, and former presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), has been enskinned as the Kakulasewura of the Mankuma Traditional Area in the Savannah Region, marking a significant new chapter in his distinguished career of public service.
The enskinment was conducted following the passing of the previous occupant of the throne some months ago. The ceremony adhered strictly to the rich cultural protocols of the Gonja people, drawing royals, linguists, and traditional warriors to Mankuma in the Bole District to witness the installation rites.
Beyond the traditional fraternity, the event attracted a broad cross-section of Ghanaian society. Politicians, business figures, family members, and well-wishers all converged on the community to celebrate the elevation of the new Kakulasewura, a reflection of Dr Sakara's standing both nationally and within his home region.
Dr Sakara's ascension to the traditional stool is widely seen as a blending of his national profile in politics and agriculture with a deep commitment to grassroots and traditional leadership. His installation is expected to bring renewed attention and development advocacy to the Mankuma Traditional Area.
The occasion also underscored the enduring relevance of chieftaincy institutions in contemporary Ghanaian life, with leaders from multiple sectors gathering to pay their respects and honour the cultural heritage of the Gonja people in the Savannah Region.
